prototype an app in 15 minutes
Not a graphic designer, coder, interaction designer, or developer? Think you can’t prototype an app?
With fifteen minutes and a pair of scissors we’ll show you how to prototype an app.
Step 1: Come up with your basic concept
Don’t have one already brewing? Use this quick activity we call “the mashup” to help you come up with an idea to practice on.
Choose one item from column A and one item from column B to help you fill in this madlib:
This app is a _________________ (A) service/ app for ___________________ (B)
Step 2: Create your template
A: Download and print this template.
B: Cut long the red lines
Tip: to cut the phone lines, fold the image in half, so the top meets the bottom, then cut in from the center.
STEP 3: Draw three screens in the three boxes in the grid
STEP 4: Thread your boxes through the screen to create your prototype
STEP 5: Give yourself a high five!
You just build an app! Now go show it to someone to get some feedback on your idea.
